Launched by the federal government, the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) allows millions of low- and middle-income Canadians to access covered dental care. As a registered CDCP provider clinic, we submit claims directly on behalf of our patients. Here is everything you need to know to find out if you qualify and how to take advantage of it.
Who is eligible for the CDCP?
To be eligible for the CDCP in 2026, you must meet all three of the following conditions:
- Be a Canadian resident
- Not have access to private dental insurance
- Have an adjusted family net income below $90,000
What level of coverage based on your income?
Coverage varies based on your adjusted family net income. The lower your income, the higher your coverage.
- Under $70,000: 100% of covered services (no co-pay)
- Between $70,000 and $79,999: 60% coverage
- Between $80,000 and $89,999: 40% coverage
- $90,000 and above: not eligible
What services are covered by the CDCP?
The CDCP covers a wide range of preventive and basic oral health services.
- Dental exams and X-rays
- Cleanings and scaling (preventive hygiene)
- Fillings for cavities
- Tooth extractions
- Basic root canal treatments
- Dental prostheses (partial and complete dentures)

Learn moreFrequently asked questions
How do I enroll in the CDCP?
Enrollment is done online at the Service Canada website or by phone at 1-833-537-4342. You will need your social insurance number and income information. Once enrolled, you will receive a coverage card.
Does the CDCP cover dental implants?
The CDCP covers certain prosthetic procedures depending on your situation. Implants are not systematically covered, but alternative prostheses (partial, complete dentures) may be. Contact us for a personalized assessment.
I have workplace insurance — can I still benefit from the CDCP?
No. If you have access to private dental insurance through your employer or spouse, you are not eligible for the CDCP, even if that insurance only provides partial coverage.
Can my child be covered by the CDCP?
Yes. Children can be covered under the family CDCP coverage if the family income qualifies. There is no minimum age.
