Dental Hygiene & Prevention
The best dentistry is the kind you never need. Our preventive protocols keep your gums healthy and catch problems before they escalate.
Book an AppointmentHealthy gums are the foundation of a beautiful smile and strong teeth. At every periodic check-up, our hygienist removes tartar and plaque that brushing can't reach, assesses your gum health and guides you toward a personalized home hygiene routine. We also screen for gum recession, dentin hypersensitivity, parafunction habits like bruxism, and defective fillings — all conditions that are much easier to address early.

Frequently asked questions
How often should I get a dental cleaning?
For most patients, every 6 months is sufficient. If you tend to accumulate tartar quickly or have a history of gum disease, we recommend every 3 to 4 months.
Is scaling painful?
Scaling is generally painless. If your gums are sensitive, we can apply a topical anesthetic gel for your comfort before starting.
Does my insurance cover dental cleanings?
Most dental insurance plans cover 1 to 2 cleanings per year. We help you maximize your coverage at every visit.
Are dental cleanings covered by the CDCP?
Yes, the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) covers prophylactic cleanings and periodontal assessments for eligible beneficiaries. We submit the claim directly at your visit.
How do I know if I have gum disease?
The most common signs are gums that bleed when you brush, persistent bad breath, red or swollen gums, and teeth that appear to be 'getting longer' (gum recession). If you notice any of these, book an appointment soon — periodontal disease responds well to treatment when caught early.
